Everyone is welcome to join us at the 13th annual District Music Fest. The 2020 event is scheduled to take place Sunday, April 19 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church (UMC) of Murray, Kentucky, under the direction of Dr. Todd E. Hill. Dr. Hill is the Chancel Choir and Traditional Worship Director at Murray First UMC.
A mass choir comprised of UMC members from all around the Purchase District will be performing three (3) choral pieces at the event (one with the congregation). In addition to the Mass Choir, each participating church choir or praise band will perform one to two selections of their own choosing.
Donations will be accepted at the event through a love offering with 100% of donations benefiting Reelfoot Rural Ministries, located in Obion, TN - a ministry of the Memphis Conference of The United Methodist Church. Those giving to the offering are asked to make checks payable to their local church and write “Reelfoot Rural Ministries” in the memo line. Then, each local church is asked to write one check made payable to Reelfoot Rural Ministries and bring it to Music Fest to place in the offering.
At the 2019 event, a mass choir gathered for the 12th annual Music Fest raising $4,100.00 for Reelfoot Rural Ministries.
Mark your calendars now to attend the 2020 District Music Fest at 5:30 p.m. April 19 at First United Methodist Church, 503 Maple St, Murray, KY 42071.
