2022 Project Christmas House

Project Christmas House is a mission of the Purchase District of The United Methodist Church and is open to everyone. The team starts from the ground and builds up. The goal is to at least “dry in” a home for a family who has been devastated by natural disaster and does not have the means to recover on their own.

This year’s home was originally scheduled to be built in Mayfield, Ky. but has been moved to Dresden, Tenn. due to site clearance issue. The project will begin December 26 and extend two weeks. Volunteers are encouraged to come for one or more days or for the whole week.

This year’s goal is to raise $42,000. We challenge churches and individuals in the Purchase District to raise at least half of those funds. So…the challenge is on! We can do this!

Bill Carr, coordinator of this year’s mission, asks that you would pray as to how you can help—Pray, Pay, or Play (work). They need anyone who is willing to help! The team needs carpenters, laborers, electricians, cooks, first aid, historians, cleaners, etc. The cost is $100 for meals/housing but the fee will be waived if needed. If you cannot volunteer, please consider a tax-deductible donation. Funds must be received in the district office no later than December 16 in order to be applied toward the 2022 Project Christmas House. Funds received after that date will be applied to future Christmas House projectcs. Make checks payable to the Purchase District UMC, write “Christmas House” in the memo line, and mail it to 2285 Jack Treas Rd., Kirksey, KY 42054.
