Mass Choir Director Lyz Hornbeak
All are welcome to attend the 12th annual District Music Fest (a.k.a. Choir Fest). The 2019 event is scheduled to take place Sunday, March 3 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Concord United Methodist Church (UMC) of Paducah, Kentucky, under the direction of Mrs. Lyz Hornbeak. Mrs. Hornbeak is the choir director at Concord UMC.
A mass choir comprised of UMC members from all around the Purchase District will be performing two (2) choral pieces at the event. In addition to the mass choir, each participating church choir will perform one selection of their own choosing.
Donations will be accepted at the event through a love offering with 100% of donations benefiting Reelfoot Rural Ministries, located in Obion, TN - a ministry of the Memphis Conference of The United Methodist Church. Those giving to the offering are asked to make checks payable to their local church and write “Reelfoot Rural Ministries” in the memo line. Then, each local church is asked to write one check made payable to Reelfoot Rural Ministries and bring it to Music Fest to place in the offering.
At the 2018 event, a mass choir gathered for the 11th annual Choir Fest with proceeds totaling $4,020.00 and benefiting Reelfoot Rural Ministries.

If you would like to sing in the mass choir contact the Purchase District Office by the February 4th deadline. The Mass Choir will be perform two (2) choral pieces at the event. Robes are optional.
A mass choir practice will begin at 3:00 p.m. on the day of Music Fest followed by individual choirs that would like to practice their individual pieces. Please click here to hear the mass choir selections on YouTube.
