The Congregation at South Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Calloway County recently donated funds to purchase items and “make up” 48 Health Kits for UMCOR. These relief-supply kits are composed of eight basic hygiene items intended to be used for those in crisis.
This small congregation of about 75 people responded to this mission project, as we will soon be entering tornado season. Sadly, of course, any family can suffer tragedy 365 days a year – from a fire or flooding, just to name a few.
We feel blessed to be able to answer God's call to help some of those in crisis. Sadly these 48 Health Kits probably won't last very long.
We all pray that crisis will not affect our families, but unfortunately no one is immune to crisis. Our hope and prayer is this: if a crisis does happen to our loved ones, I think we would all want them to receive spiritual help and guidance and comfort accompanied with physical help such as these Health Kits.
Please join in by keeping this mission project, as well as all of the United Methodist Churches' mission projects in your daily prayers! Disaster relief programs are so very important!… And are so very in need of your prayers, today and every day!
