Greetings!
I’m Pat Dunker, and I’m the District Spiritual Growth Coordinator for the Purchase District United Methodist Women, and I’d like to invite everyone to our UMW Purchase District Spiritual Growth Event on May 22, 2021 at South Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church located at 5671 Crossland Road (St. Rt. 783) in Hazel, Kentucky.
This will be a little different from what we’re used to. This is going to be a workshop/discussion event based on our Spiritual Growth subject, “Finding Peace in an Anxious World.” Pretty timely, isn’t it? Books for this are available through the UMW website (hard copy), or through Amazon (Kindle).
Registration will start at 9:30, first session will start at 10:00 a.m. and will end at approximately 1:30 p.m.. We’ll have discussions about our survival during our lock down. We’ll share how we kept our minds active; how we continued mission work.
There will be distancing, and we ask that you wear a mask. Most will probably have had their vaccinations (we’re trying to err on the side of caution here!). We’ll just see what things look like at the time. At best, please bring a mask – just in case.
We will also pause to have a small Remembrance Service. Most of us know at least one person we’ve lost during this time – whether it was to Covid or not. I’ll have candles to light, and petals to take with you if you wish. This will give us a chance to acknowledge those special people in our lives – and also to let others know who has joined the Church Triumphant.
Lunch will be served as well – a Salad Luncheon! There will be various kinds of salads for us to choose from! That’s one of my favorite things to have – hope it is for you as well. There will be a $3 charge, but where else can you get your choice of wonderful salads for $3?
Please pass this on- and please - also let me know how many will be coming so these wonderful Ladies can be sure to have enough salads on hand.
