Project Christmas House 2021 will be headed to Nashville, Tennessee on December 26 and staying until December 31 (or possibly January 1). Volunteers are encouraged to come for one or more days or for the whole week.

Project Christmas House is a mission of the Purchase District of The United Methodist Church and is open to everyone. The team starts from the ground and builds up. The goal is to at least “dry in” a home for a family who has been devastated by a tornado or other disaster and does not have the means to recover on their own.

Bill Carr, coordinator of this year’s mission, asks that you would pray as to how you can help: Pray, Pay, or Play (work). They need anyone who is willing to help! They still need carpenters, laborers, electricians, cooks, first aid, historians, cleaners, etc. You may contact Bill at 270.556.5221 for more information or to volunteer. Please find a flyer linked below to distribute among your congregations as well as bulletin inserts and a letter.

If you cannot volunteer, please consider a tax-deductible donation. The goal this year is to raise $23,200. Funds must be received in the district office no later than December 20 in order to be applied toward the 2021 Project Christmas House. Funds received after that date will be applied to future Christmas houses. Make checks payable to the Purchase District UMC, write “Christmas House” in the memo line, and mail it to 2285 Jack Treas Rd., Kirksey, KY 42054. We need every church’s help and help from individuals to continue to make this mission a success! Thank you for your prayers and support for not only the team but for the family they will be helping.
