Project Christmas House 2018 will be headed to Hattiesburg, Mississippi on December 26 and staying until December 31 or January 1. Volunteers are encouraged to come for one or more days or for the whole week.

For those who are not familiar with Project Christmas House, it is a mission of the Purchase District UMC and is open to everyone. The team starts from the ground and builds up. The goal is to at least “dry in” a home for a family who has been devastated by a tornado or other disaster and does not have the means to recover on their own.

This year’s project is on stilts. This is a new challenge for the team. It will also require more money. The goal this year is $40,000.

Bill Carr, coordinator of this year’s mission, asks that you would pray as to how you can help—Pray, Pay, or Play (work). They need anyone who is willing to help! The team already has two cooks. However, they still need carpenters, laborers, electricians, etc. You may contact Bill at 270.556.5221 for more information or to volunteer. Please find a flyer linked below to distribute among your congregations.

If you cannot volunteer, please consider a donation. Make checks payable to the Purchase District UMC, write “Christmas House” in the memo line, and mail it to 2285 Jack Treas Rd., Kirksey, KY 42054. We need every church’s help to continue to make this mission a success! Thank you for your prayers and support for not only the team but for the family they will be helping.

In Christ,
