Since February 2, 1997, the Family Kitchen has served a meal each weekend (formerly on Sundays, currently on Saturdays) to anyone in need of a meal. Nine (9) United Methodist Churches in the Purchase District, as well as three (3) churches from varying denominations participate in the rotating schedule for this ministry by preparing and serving the meal four to five times per year at the former St. Luke Aldersgate Methodist Church, now Holy House of Prayer.
Through the efforts of many churches and groups (including youth groups), individuals can get a hot meal every day of the week: on weekdays at the Community Kitchen, on Sundays at Broadway United Methodist Church, and on Saturdays at the Family Kitchen (from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.).
If your church or group is interested in serving a meal at Family Kitchen, would like to join in the rotation of churches who currently serve four to five times per year, or would like more information, please contact a pastor in the McCracken County Cluster of United Methodists Churches at one of the links below.
Other participating churches/groups include:
Knights of Columbus
Seventh Day Adventist
Washington Street Baptist Church
The Family Kitchen is located at Holy House of Prayer (former St. Luke Aldersgate Methodist Church), 1001 South 4th Street, Paducah.
