The Purchase District is hosting a Basic Early Response Team (ERT) training on June 30, 2018.
During disasters, ERTs strive to assist those who cannot help themselves or who are overwhelmed by their surroundings. The teams cut down trees, tarp roofs and clean out flooded homes. Members hold such positions as team leaders, assistant team leaders, cooks, logistics coordinators, and equipment managers, safety officers, listeners/team recorders, saw personnel, tractor drivers and laborers.
Bill Carr will be the instructor. The training will be held on our campus located at 2285 Jack Treas Road in Brewers, Kentucky from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The cost is $25.00 which will pay for a background check, lunch, and materials. Please make checks payable to ‘Purchase District UMC’ and mail to 2285 Jack Treas Rd., Kirksey, KY 42054. The training is limited to 20 participants. The deadline to register is June 27, 2018.
